Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is seeking flexible support staff substitutes to work with our students and staff across a variety of roles, including classroom aides, clerical support, media aides, bus monitors, bus drivers, cooks and more.

Assignments vary daily during the school year, with possible summer openings in Extended School Year. You must be fingerprinted and meet employment requirements. Pay ranges from $18.50 to $22.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience in a classroom or office setting.
• Strong interpersonal communication, basic language, basic math and basic writing skills.
• A minimum of two professional references. (We do not accept family or friends as references.)

Responsibilities

• Support assignments across multiple roles (classroom aide, clerical, admin, media aide, bus monitor/driver, cook) as needed.
• Navigate the district’s electronic system to accept/decline assignments and view instructions.
• Contribute to a positive, safe school environment and assist staff as required.

Looking for a flexible schedule? Durango School District is recruiting support staff substitutes to work with our amazing students and staff! Pay rates for these various assignments range from $18.50 to $22.00 per hour. Substitues working in this capacity may choose to substitute as classroom aides, clerical support, administrative assistants, media aides, bus monitors, bus drivers, cooks. We are recruiting candidates who are willing to work a flexible schedule at locations and in positions that vary daily. Our support staff substitutes work during the school year in a variety of roles to assist the successful operations of our schools. At times, there may be classroom aide work available in the summer supporting our students in our Extended School Year program. Upon accepting a support staff substitute position, you must also agree to be fingerprinted to meet employment requirements. Requirements Include

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children.
• Experience in a classroom or office setting.
• Strong interpersonal communication, basic language, basic math and basic writing skills.

Candidates must also have strong computer skills. Substitutes are required to navigate through an electronic system independently to accept and decline assignments; maintain their schedules; and view assignment instructions.
