Position Title: 2820 Elementary School Principal
General Definition and Conditions of Work: Performs difficult professional and administrative work in the administration and supervision of the elementary school and its programs; primacy is given to instructionally related activities; serves as the instructional leader and maintains an atmosphere of mutual respect and courtesy while establishing high expectations for all employees and students; does related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Schools in conjunction with the Assistant Superintendents. Supervision is exercised over teaching and support staff.
Physical requirements: sedentary work requiring up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; requires climbing, kneeling, reaching, and other movements; vocal, hearing, and visual acuity requirements as described.

Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in the administration and supervision of all facets of the elementary school principalship; thorough knowledge of prescribed School Board policies and procedures; strong skills in oral and written communication; outstanding leadership and personal characteristics; ability to motivate others to reach their fullest potential; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, the School Board and the general public.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in administration and extensive teaching and administrative experience.
Possession of postgraduate professional license with an endorsement as an elementary school principal.
