The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools district is seeking a Part-Time Bus Assistant (TRBSA021) for the Transportation Department in Manalapan, NJ. This internal/external posting supports students with special needs and requires Epi-pen training, physical ability to assist students, and adherence to safety procedures.

Hours are 7:25 am - 9:30 am and 2:10 pm - 4:00 pm with a $24.00 hourly rate. Residency in NJ within 1 year of appointment is required. Equal Opportunity Employer AA/EOE.

• Assist children getting in and out of bus; assist (lift) child getting into seat, and secure child with seatbelt.
• Must be familiar with emergency evacuation procedure and assist driver in the event of an emergency evacuation.
• Must be able to assist the driver if it is necessary to back up the bus.

Requirements

• Epi-pen training required (will be provided)
• Lay out seatbelts before arriving at child's bus stop
• Must prepare vehicle for any special need the student may have
• Must be in good physical condition
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Assist children getting in and out of bus; assist (lift) child getting into seat, and secure child with seatbelt
• Must be familiar with emergency evacuation procedure and assist driver in the event of an emergency evacuation
• Must be able to assist the driver if it is necessary to back up the bus
• Must be patient and able to interact with special needs students

Must have prior experience as a bus assistant
