Job summary

Venture Community Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for part-time shifts totaling 24 hours. Pay starts at $17.50 to $19.00 per hour with paid training and a sign-on bonus. The DSP helps adults 22+ with disabilities with daily living tasks, community participation, and accompanying to appointments.

Training includes CPR/First Aid, MAP, and more. The role emphasizes empowerment, independence, and quality of life, within a supportive team and a culture of inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults 22+ with intellectual/developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible.
• Assist with household tasks, meals, shopping, appointments, and daily activities.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans to achieve goals.
• Assist with community integration and attend outings as needed.

Direct Support Professional - Sign on Bonus! Paid Training!

Schedule: Thu 9a-11a, Thu 3p-11p, Sat 9a-4p, Sat 4p-11p

Part time: 24 Hours

Pay: $17.50 - 19.00 per hour - Paid training provided by Venture!

Sign On Bonus: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc... so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.

DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals' home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.

DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Employees must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above, and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job. Employee must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported. This may include holidays, overnights, or double-shifts.
