Qualifications

• Must pass a MIG weld test. The test consists of a guided bend test with two one-inch 3x6" plates, one beveled and one squared.
• Must be able to perform a full pin test with back gouge.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.

Responsibilities

• Layout, position, align, weld, and fit parts for steel fabrication, ensuring conformance to specifications.
• Verify work piece conformance to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project requirements.
• Interpret blueprints to identify weld symbols and follow welding procedures accordingly.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts that require welding.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Maintain welding equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Ensure that work is performed safely and meets quality standards.
• Keep the job site clean and organized at all times.
• Operate fabrication equipment, such as Jib cranes, overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
