Planate Management Group (PMG) seeks a skilled Construction Manager to support the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades for Kerrville VAMC. You will oversee construction activities, coordinate stakeholders, and monitor schedules, costs, quality, and safety.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or 10 years of experience; healthcare project experience preferred. The position is contingent on contract award and will last two years.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or related four-year college curriculum
10 years of relevant construction management experience may substitute for the degree
Healthcare or hospital project experience, VA facilities preferred
Advanced knowledge of construction practices and installation methods
Strong skills in project coordination, schedule monitoring, cost tracking, quality assurance, and construction documentation
Effective communication and coordination with contractors, design teams, and stakeholders

Responsibilities

Monitor construction schedules, milestones, project progress, and critical activities to identify and address potential delays
Coordinate pre-construction planning, construction phasing, stakeholder meetings, and site mobilization
Review construction plans, RFIs, and proposed methods for constructability and compliance
Monitor budgets, cost estimates, expenditures, and contract changes
Facilitate progress meetings, prepare reports, maintain daily logs, and track issues
Monitor construction quality, inspections, testing, commissioning, and safety compliance
Coordinate with contractors, design teams, government representatives, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues
Support project closeout, including punch lists, as-built records, warranties, and documentation

Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a Construction Manager to support Electronic Health Record Management (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrades project requirements, across Kerrville Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). You oversee construction activities, coordinate project stakeholders, and monitor project schedules, costs, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and installation methods to ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract requirements, applicable standards, and project objectives.

This position is contingent upon the award of the contract, and the contract duration is 2 years.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor construction schedules, milestones, project progress, and critical activities to identify and address potential delays
Coordinate pre-construction planning, construction phasing, stakeholder meetings, and site mobilization
Review construction plans, submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), and proposed construction methods for constructability and compliance
Monitor project budgets, cost estimates, expenditures, and construction contract changes
Facilitate progress meetings, prepare project reports, maintain daily logs, and track outstanding issues
Monitor construction quality, inspections, testing, commissioning, and compliance with safety requirements
Coordinate with contractors, design teams, government representatives, and other stakeholders to resolve project issues
Support project closeout, including punch lists, as-built records, warranties, and required documentation

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, Construction Management, or a related four-year college curriculum, with at least 3 years of relevant construction management experience
Candidates without a college degree may substitute the education requirement with 10 years of relevant construction management experience
Experience working on healthcare or hospital projects, preferably within VA medical facilities, is preferred
Advanced knowledge of construction practices and techniques, including the proper application of construction materials and installation methods within the professional’s area of expertise
Strong skills in project coordination, schedule monitoring, cost tracking, quality assurance, and construction documentation
Effective communication and coordination skills to work with contractors, project teams, and other stakeholders
