Job summary

Barbour County Schools seeks (2) After-School Tutor(s) in Philippi, WV. Tutors will be supervised by the Principal and provide targeted after-school tutoring in English/Language Arts and Math based on benchmark needs.

Contract/hourly positions with a pay rate of $35.00 per hour. Employment is contingent on federal funding and runs October 2026 through May 2027, approximately 2 hours per week per tutor.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate in Any Secondary Education 06-08 or Any Secondary Education 6-12.
• Ability to provide after-school tutoring in English/Language Arts and Math.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-school tutoring targeted to benchmarks in English/Language Arts and Math.
• Tutoring sessions are part-time, 2 hours per week per tutor, during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Employment Term:

2 hours per week per tutor beginning October 2026 and ending May 2027 (pending receiving of federal funding). (To provide tutoring targeted tutoring in english/language arts and math after school based on needs from benchmarks) (as grant funds are available and as student need warrants)

Salary:

$35.00 per hour
