Job summary

BAS HealthCare is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner specialized in Neonatology to join our Level III NICU team in Marquette, MI. This position requires managing 10 patient encounters per shift, performing advanced procedures, and collaborating with specialists from the University of Michigan.

Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay are offered, along with lodging and support from a knowledgeable RN staff. Candidates must hold a Michigan medical license and certifications in NRP and PALS.

Qualifications

• Must have board certification in Neonatology or be Board Eligible.
• Must maintain an active Michigan medical license.
• PALS certification required with a 60-day credentialing timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Work 24-hour shifts with in-facility coverage and on-call responsibilities.
• Manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift in a 21-bed department.
• Perform advanced procedures including intubation and paracentesis.
• Treat Level III NICU cases without surgical sub-specialties.
• Collaborate with University of Michigan specialists.

This healthcare facility features a well-established Level III NICU that has been serving the community since the early 1970s. The facility operates in a new hospital building as of 2019, with a highly knowledgeable RN staff with strong clinical skills who work excellently as a team, supported by integral respiratory therapy team members.

Opportunity

Advanced Practice (NP) - Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology

Job Details

• Work 24-hour shifts with 6am-6pm in-facility coverage and 6pm-6am on-call responsibilities
• Schedule includes August 5 orientation, August 6-19, and ongoing 10-14 days per month
• Manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift in a 21-bed department
• Board certification in Neonatology preferred or Board Eligible with NRP certification required
• Perform advanced procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, central line placement, paracentesis, spinal taps, exchange transfusion, and thermal cooling
• Manage ventilator care including oscillators and iNO
• Treat Level III NICU cases without surgical sub-specialties including Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Pulmonary Hypertension, Pneumothorax, Sepsis, and Seizures
• Stabilize surgical cases for transport and manage VLBW and NAS patients
• Utilize full diagnostic equipment including MRI, CT, EEG with Cerner EHR system
• Collaborate with general pediatrics, pediatric neurology, infectious disease, and consultation services with University of Michigan specialists
• Must maintain active Michigan medical license
• PALS certification required with 60-day credentialing timeframe
