This on-site role supports overall yard productivity and may assist with warehouse tasks as needed. The position follows a Monday–Thursday schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with starting wage of $22.00 per hour and potential raises of up to $0.88 every six months.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers safely between dock doors and storage areas within the yard.
• Transport full and empty trailers around the distribution center campus to support operations.
• Jockey trailers between dock doors and storage areas in the yard.
• Ensure trailers are properly positioned, secured, and chocked for safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain an organized yard by strategically placing trailers and containers for efficiency.
• Coordinate trailer movements with warehouse personnel, receiving and shipping teams, and leadership.
• Inspect tractors, trailers, and yard equipment; report maintenance needs promptly.
• Inspect trailers for cleanliness, damage, and readiness; report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Ensure cargo and equipment are properly secured when required.
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and federal, state, and DOT regulations.
• Report incidents, equipment damage, hazards, and safety concerns to leadership.
• Meet performance expectations regarding safety, efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work closely with team members and leadership to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
• Support warehouse operations as needed, including material handling and equipment operation if trained.
• Flex into other departments and perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operation.

Job Summary

The Yard Jockey is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the distribution center yard, ensuring timely positioning for loading and unloading operations. This role is focused primarily on on-site trailer spotting, yard organization, dock support, equipment inspections, and coordination with warehouse operations. The Yard Jockey helps maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard while supporting overall distribution center productivity. The position may also assist with warehouse operations and material handling duties as needed.

SHIFT SCHEDULE & WAGE

• Monday-Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Starting wage is $22.00/hr and a potential of up to $0.88 in raises every 6 months
