Job summary

Isola Group in Ridgeway, SC is hiring a 1st Shift Treater Operator. The role involves setting up treaters, ensuring material quality, and maintaining uptime on a shift running 5:00am to 1:30pm with overtime.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and forklift certification, with strong English communication and PC experience. You will handle chemicals, perform tests, document results, and work with QA/Engineering to meet safety and quality targets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience with complex/continuous machine operation preferred.
• Forklift license is required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Set up the Treater per recipes/speed matrix and machine settings during start-up, changeover and shutdown.
• Adjust to maintain physical and cosmetic performance of treated materials.
• Maintain maximum machine uptime and product yields.
• Move varnishes and solvents between rooms and treaters.
• Ensure correct raw materials per Work Order BOM.
• Document product tests including weight, viscosity, and volatile content.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure materials meet quality criteria.
• Handle and dispose of chemicals per standards including hazardous waste.
• Communicate with Area Lead, Maintenance, Engineering, and QA on issues.
• Record downtime and necessary paperwork; perform SAP transactions.
• Work in environments with chemicals, noise, dust; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Cross-train in other areas and participate in continuous improvement.
