Job summary

Fisher Barton is seeking a Tool & Die Technician to maintain stamping dies, die components and production tooling, and to troubleshoot dies in presses while supporting safety, quality and improvement on all shifts.

The role requires basic math and computer skills, familiarity with stamping dies, and the ability to read blueprints; duties include coordinating with operators and supervisors, maintaining 5S and housekeeping, and working in Watertown, Wisconsin on 1st shift 6:00am-2:00pm with

Responsibilities

• Maintain stamping dies of all types, die components and production tooling.
• Adjust dies and tooling components.
• Maintain production tooling within quality standards.
• Communicate tooling requirements and die/equipment status across shifts.
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the work area.
• Demonstrate ability to read and interpret blueprints and safely operate tool room machinery.
• Collaborate with production personnel to troubleshoot dies and suggest improvements.

Job description

Tool & Die Technicians maintain and sharpen die blocks, die components, and tooling used in the production process, use manual and CNC equipment and tool room machinery regularly, and work in production areas outside the Tool Room to troubleshoot dies and tooling in presses. Fisher Barton is constantly adding new technologies to improve productivity, quality, and safety.

You will:

• Adhere to Fisher Barton Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics
• Maintain stamping dies of all types, die components and production tooling, and learn troubleshooting dies in the press
• Adjust dies and tooling components
• Maintain production tooling within quality standards
• Communicate effectively with operators, set-up personnel, and supervisors on all three shifts regarding tooling requirements, and die and equipment status
• Maintain housekeeping and 5S in the work area
• Demonstrate ability to read and interpret blueprints and safely operate tool room machinery.
• Have a positive attitude and ability to work with production personnel in troubleshooting die and suggest modifications to improve performance.

Required Qualifications:

• Basic Math skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with stamping dies of all types.
• Tool Room Work experience is a plus.

Physical | Visual Demands:

• Ability to stand 8-12 hours a day
• Ability to sit, stand, squat and bend
• Reach overhead with one or both arms
• Repetitive movement of lifting and placing parts on machines / up to 15 pounds
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds

Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00am-2:00pm - overtime when available
