Job Purpose:- The Set Up Machinist (Level 3) at Precision Medical Technologies is responsible for setting up and operating complex machinery to produce precision medical components. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet stringent industry standards.Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce parts according to specifications.- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining operations.- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to ensure optimal performance.- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments to machinery settings.- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues.- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.- Document production activities and maintain accurate records of machine settings and part specifications.- Train and mentor junior machinists, providing guidance and support in developing their technical skills.Required Education:- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining or a related field is preferred.Required Experience:- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, with a focus on set-up operations.- Proven track record of working with precision medical components and understanding of industry standards.- Experience in operating and setting up CNC machines and manual machining equipment.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in ensuring high-quality production.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.- Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.- Effective communication skills to liaise with engineering and production teams.
