Job summary

Belle Aire Creations in Round Lake Park, IL seeks a 1st Shift Quality Control Manager to lead QA processes. You will supervise testing methods, ensure compliance, and collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, and Planning to maintain quality across raw materials to finished goods.

We expect a High School Diploma (associate/bachelor preferred), 4–6 years in production or analytical labs, and strong English communication. Must work on site with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years relevant experience in production lab or analytical lab environment.
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in English.
  • GMPs knowledge and production/planning awareness.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform internal and external CAPA's.
  • Resolve non-conformity issues.
  • Oversee and validate testing methods for materials and finished products.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, yearly work assignments for quality team.
  • Assist with scheduling projects directed by VP of Operations.

Job Description:

Due to increasing business activity and to further build upon our continued success, Belle Aire Creations needs a capable Quality Manager. Our Quality Technicians are specialists whose primary goal is to validate incoming raw materials through the production process, and into the finished goods phases of production. To do so, The Quality Manager must oversee current procedures utilizing an array of raw test methods to ascertain compliance. You will support the fragrance manufacturing process alongside Production Staff, Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Service, and Planning staff. The Quality Manager reports to the Director of Operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent workflow and collaboration between Quality department shifts.
  • Perform Internal and External CAPA’s.
  • Resolve non-conformity issues.
  • Oversee and validate standardized testing methods for incoming materials and finished product to confirm accuracy.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, yearly work assignments for quality team.
  • Scheduling annual preventative maintenance for equipment.
  • Document requests.
  • Customer complaints.
  • Status updates.
  • Assist with scheduling projects as directed by VP of Operations.
  • Assist with projects directed by Senior Quality Manager.
  • Oversee proper disposal of expired materials/products.
  • Implementation of safe work practices.
  • Adhere to Belle Aire Creations PTO policy.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, Associate or bachelor degree preferred.
  • 4-6 years relevant experience in production lab, or analytical lab environment.
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
  • Production/Planning skills: Knowledge of Good manufacturing processes (GMP’s).
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Deadline oriented.
  • IT skills - Proficiency in using common PC applications.
  • Excellent ability to work with others.
  • Cognitive (Reasoning):
    • Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.
  • Communication:
    • Vocalize and explain detailed data and problem-solve, both in-person and by telephone. Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Compose routine correspondence on own initiative.
    • Make comprehensive notes in English.
    • May involve a large volume of such composition.
    • Must have ability to work well under pressure.
  • Physical Capabilities:
    • Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion):
      • Must be able to lift 30-lbs onto waist high shelves.
      • Must be able to lift and carry a min of 25lbs.
    • Movement: Employee will frequently use fingers, walk and distinguish basic colors. Employee will continuously use both hands, sit for extended periods of time, and use rapid or well-developed coordination simultaneously.
    • Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
    • Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly
