Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Flint, MI is seeking a 1st Shift Production Line Lead to supervise the production line and its crew, ensuring maximum efficiency, productivity and quality of customer orders.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 2 years of leadership experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment, English fluency, basic computer skills, and the ability to operate PIT equipment. The position offers weekday hours 6am-2:30pm with overtime as needed.

• General fluency in English required, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Assign tasks to staff and assist with training to ensure efficient operations.
• Prepare product for customers by packing, unpacking, and repackaging as needed.
• Build product bundles and mailing packets; perform box printing and labeling.
• Receive new and returned product; log and track production documentation.
• Ensure safety and quality standards at all times; perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

The Opportunity:

The 1st Shift Production Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the production machine line and Its employees within the Flint Michigan Warehouse. Line Lead ensures maximum efficiency, productivity and quality of assembly of customer orders.

Hours:

Mon - Fri, 6am - 2:30pm (overtime and weekends as needed)

Pay Rate:

$20.00/hr

How you will impact Packaging Solutions, Smurfit Westrock:

• Partner with Team Leads to ensure staff members are assigned tasks as outlined in the work order and assist with training.
• Work side by side with crew to prepare product for customers that include:
• Pack product of varying type
• Unpack/Repackage product of varying type
• Build product bundles of supplies
• Build mailing packets
• Box printing
• Box labeling
• Receive new and returned product
• Log and track production documentation
• Ensure safety and quality standards at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to operate PIT equipment
