Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Conover, NC seeks a Production Manager - 1st Shift to supervise the Fiber processing department and lead hourly staff toward meeting production goals with a focus on quality, safety and efficiency.

The role requires supervising production operations across 1st/2nd shifts, communicating with management, and ensuring policy adherence. Familiarity with SAP is preferred; strong organizational and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 1-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Intermediate computer skills (Word/Excel).
• Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
• Flexibility to work off hours and extended shifts as needed.
• Contribute to team building and safe operation.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of hourly employees in production, quality, safety, and order value.
• Monitor adherence to procedures and paperwork.
• Communicate daily with management regarding production, personnel, scheduling and quality.
• Establish and maintain safe operation per company standards.
• Aim for quality consistent with customer expectations using Kaizen or similar methods.
• Review and approve department time records daily.
