Job summary

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking a Logistics Support role to assist in bringing parts, paperwork, and tooling to work areas and minimize work-in-process inventories while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include expediting rush orders, delivering items via forklift or manually, assisting with packing, and ensuring accuracy of documentation. A high school diploma and basic math skills are preferred, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write English on documents such as work orders and safety instructions.
• Ability to speak English sufficiently for emergencies and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Reports discrepancies or damage to supervisor.
• Expedites rush orders and conditions affecting output.
• Delivers parts, paperwork, and tooling to areas using forklift or manual methods.
• Supports production tasks such as racking, un-racking, and packing as workload allows.
• Checks product against paperwork.
• Keeps work area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Maintains tooling and storage areas in order.
• Adheres to safety regulations at all times.
• Suggests improvements to methods, procedures, and housekeeping.

Overview

Job Summary

Assist in all the logistical work of bringing parts, paperwork, and tooling in small quantities to work areas and minimize work-in-process inventories to eliminate waste while providing excellent customer service.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Reports any discrepancies or damage to the team leader or supervisor
• Reacts to and expedites rush orders and other conditions that affect work output
• Displays prompt and accurate delivery of parts, paperwork, and/or tooling to designated areas via forklift, handcart, or manually
• Helps in production to rack, un-rack, and pack as needed and workload dictates
• Checks product to paperwork
• Keeps work area and equipment clean, safe, and orderly
• Assist with keeping all tooling, material storage, and production areas in a neat and orderly condition
• Works safely at all times and complies with safety regulations
• Offers suggestions relative to improvements on methods, procedures, housekeeping, safety, etc.
• Operates all material handling equipment in a manner that ensures the utmost safety of all employees
• Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed

Work Environment

• Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air
• Repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Various chemicals used in process

Education/Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
• Must possess basic math skills
• Ability to read, comprehend and write English on documents such as work orders, safety instructions and dispositions of parts.
• Ability to speak English sufficiently to allow for adequate communications in emergencies and to allow for effective cooperation with team mates.
