BENJAMIN STEEL CO is seeking a Warehouse associate to perform a variety of warehousing duties. Responsibilities include locating stock, operating equipment, processing paperwork, loading/unloading trucks, tagging and packing materials, and maintaining a safe work area.
Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, basic math and reading skills, and the ability to read a tape measure. Prior shipping/receiving experience is helpful; crane and forklift experience is preferred.
Performs a variety of warehousing duties, which requires an understanding of the Company's storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials against receiving and shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing material to prescribed storage locations by proper methods to protect material and employee safety; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examine stored materials and reporting deterioration and damages; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. May operate various equipment to stage, locate or process material for shipment.
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous shipping and receiving experience helpful.
Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred.
Must be able to read a tape measure.
Ability to work as a team member without close supervision to meet Company and personal goals.
Capable of reading a tape measure, calipers, and orders.
Able to recognize different colors.
Good reading, writing and math skills as measured by a pre-employment test.
Ability to meet physical demands of position which are required 95% of the work day (i.e. lifting up to 50 lbs independently, pushing, pulling, standing, climbing).
