Job summary

Liberty Diversified International in Brooklyn Park, MN is looking for a Material Handler / Forklift Operator to move goods safely in a high-traffic plant and to support production through accurate inventory scanning, receiving and shipping duties. This full-time role reports to a Shipping Supervisor.

Required are a HS diploma or GED, forklift certification, data-entry skills, and ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Must be stand-up and sit-down forklift certified (or willing to become).
• Experience with typing, printing and data entry.
• Experience applying basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment.
• Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system to track inventory levels and product location.
• Responsible for regularly completing pre-operation inspection and reporting equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
• Pick orders and prepare shipments for transport, consolidate partial pallets, and operate the shrink wrap machine as needed.
• Receive materials into the plant from suppliers and other locations
• Move product and/or materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trailers.
• Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Other duties, as assigned.

As a Material Handler/ Forklift Operator you will help maximize efficiency of the production process by safely operating mobile equipment to move product and materials, accurately scan inventory in and out of the business, operating shrink wrap machines, fulfill shipments to customers and receive incoming deliveries.

This full-time position reports directly to a Shipping Supervisor and is located at our Brooklyn Park, MN manufacturing facility.

Duties And Responsibilities

Required Education, Experience And Skills

• Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
• Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Education, Experience And Skills

• 1+ year experience operating mobile equipment or comparable experience in place of education.
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Knowledge of warehouse organization, workflow, as basic inventory control.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting pay rate for this position is $22.77 per hour, plus shift differential (If applicable), with an automatic increase to $25.30 per hour upon successful completion of the 60-working-day probationary period. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
