Responsibilities

  • Balance inventories with maintenance and production as needed.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in parts acquisition.
  • Assist Sourcing Specialist as needed.
  • Perform system transactions to move maintenance parts per approved processes.
  • Receive, label, and put away maintenance parts in SAP.
  • Monitor days on hand to prevent outages.
  • Conduct regular counts and post counts in the system.
  • Make inventory adjustments using approved processes.
  • Identify obsolete inventory and purge from parts.
  • Monitor slow-moving inventory.
  • Train others on maintenance parts and inventory issues.
  • Comply with safety standards and company policies.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Inventory Specialist will perform all necessary system transactions to support movement of product using approved processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with maintenance and production to balance inventories as needed.
  • Handle or assist others with identifying part acquisition cost savings.
  • Assist Sourcing Specialist.
  • Perform all necessary system transactions to support the movement of maintenance parts using approved processes.
  • Receipt of maintenance parts, label, put away, and receive into SAP.
  • Monitor the "days on hand" inventory to forestall outages.
  • Responsible for regular scheduled continuous counts of all inventory and post all counts in the system.
  • Make inventory adjustments in the system using approved process.
  • Identify obsolete inventory and purge form parts.
  • Reject/monitor/return deficient maintenance parts.
  • Monitor slow moving.
  • Train / direct others in maintenance parts / inventory issues.
  • Compliance with all safety standards and regulations per company policy.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year inventory management experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • 2 or more years inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • SAP inventory experience.
  • Basic understanding of parts processes and supported equipment.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
  • Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
  • Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
  • Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
