Job summary

Resource Label Group is seeking a 1st Shift Flexo Press Assistant to support Press Operators with setup, maintenance, and cleanup of printing presses. The role offers onsite training and a path to learn a skilled trade in printing, with strong growth potential.

Candidates with prior printing experience in manufacturing are a plus. The position reports to the Pressroom Manager and requires adherence to safety standards and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience as a Press Assistant in the printing industry is a plus.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Assists in performing preventive maintenance on presses such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning, and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts.
• Assists in the setup and cleanup of presses as required by the schedule.
• Adheres to SDS procedures and handles hazardous chemicals properly.
• Assists on other pressroom equipment if needed and when workload permits.
• Provides input for continuous productivity, quality, and scrap improvement.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors and peers.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area and follows safety standards.
• Performs other duties as requested to learn the role.
