Job summary

Qualified Staffing is hiring a Finishing Technician in Martinsburg, West Virginia. 1st shift 7am-7pm on a 4/3/4 schedule paying $18 per hour.

3rd shift 7pm-7am on a 4/3/4 schedule paying $18.75 per hour. Duties include following SOPs, safe work environment, feeding pockets, loading, inspecting final product, documenting moves, and other tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Overtime as needed.
• Lift 10-15 pounds continuously, lift 50 pounds occasionally, stand for long hours, use hands and wrists continuously.
• Receive and follow instructions.
• Use vision to identify defects with or without accommodation.
• Good verbal and written comprehension; thrive in a team and work independently.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Previous Manufacturing/Warehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand SOPs and follow them consistently.
• Maintain safety and a clean work environment.
• Feed pockets and load signatures on the machine.
• Straighten and align paper signatures.
• Load feeder pockets with signatures.
• Inspect and stack the final product.
• Handle product loads and document moves.
• Route, stage, and document product movements from the machine.
• Assist with other tasks as requested by supervisor or management.

Job description

Finishing Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Understand standard operating procedures of the department and follow them consistently.
2. Responsible for own safety and promoting and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
3. Responsible for feeding pockets down-piling products on the machine.
4. Straighten and align paper signatures.
5. Correctly load feeder pockets with signatures.
6. Inspect and stack the final product.
7. Consumption/assignment of all press/supplied product load flags at the end of job.
8. Routing, staging, and documenting of product moved from machine.
9. Other tasks as requested by supervisor, department or management.

Qualifications

1. Ability to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
