Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a loader/operator to handle feed bulk load-out, sample per policy, and ensure accurate weighing of feed types and quantities. The role requires adherence to GMP, FSMA, and safety standards in a production environment.

The position supports scheduling, inventory, and documentation tasks, with responsibilities extending to equipment upkeep and regulatory compliance on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in basic arithmetic for weighing and batching.
  • Basic computer knowledge for record-keeping and invoicing.
  • Experience with farm equipment is preferred.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.
  • Demonstrates honesty, reliability and strong character.

Responsibilities

  • Load and weigh feed trucks with correct type and quantity.
  • Coordinate daily production schedules with staff.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Record daily inventories.
  • Provide documentation for feed invoices and weight tickets as requested.
  • Follow all safety, quality, GMP, FSMA and regulatory policies.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for loading feed trucks with appropriate feed type and quantity. Obtain daily samples of all feed types per company sampling requirements and policies. Performs work in compliance with all company policies, GMP’s, FSMA regulations, local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Under minimal supervision, operate feed bulk load-out system, load and weigh feed trucks with required feed type and quantity.
  • Communicate and coordinate schedule and production with personnel to maximize efficiency.
  • Report equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel in a timely manner to reduce down time.
  • Take and record daily inventories.
  • Provide documentation on feed invoices and ingredient weight tickets as requested.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures.
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, GMP’s, FSMA regulations and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Intermediate math (add, subtract, multiply and/or divide proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.).
  • Basic computer knowledge and usage skills.
  • Experience in working with agricultural and/or farm equipment preferred.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend.
  • Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments.
  • Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection.
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material.
