Job summary

SanMar is seeking a Facilities III (Maintenance III) in our DC to maintain and repair buildings and equipment, including conveyors. The role requires 4–6 years of maintenance experience and hands-on skills with tools, CMMS, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, coordinating with contractors, and responding to emergencies. Strong detail orientation and the ability to work with or without supervision are essential for success in this hands-on position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform minor and major repair of buildings and equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings, seals, etc.
• Coordinate external contractors/vendors involved in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of building systems.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements; maintain all required HAZMAT records including maintenance.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
• May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
• May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.
• Assist with renovation/remodeling of buildings; repair plaster and drywall; paint building structures.
• Perform outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.
• May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; order parts as needed.
• Make recommendations to programs or ideas to improve Maintenance.
• May be required to operate powered lift equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job description

Position: Facilities III (Maintenance III).

Shift: 8:00AM-4:30PM.

Salary Range: $21.50-$28.94.

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing buildings, mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, and facility systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Duties include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspecting and replacing equipment components, responding to emergency maintenance requests, coordinating with contractors and vendors, maintaining equipment records and HAZMAT documentation, and using a CMMS to monitor and schedule maintenance. The role may also involve basic electrical and security-system repairs, building renovations such as drywall repair and painting, outdoor custodial duties, ordering parts and supplies, operating powered lift equipment, and recommending improvements to maintenance operations while following all safety policies, laws, and regulatory requirements. Previous experience working with conveyor systems is highly appreciated and considered a strong advantage for this position.

What's the Short Version?

The Facilities III, DC is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. They also perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings, seals, etc.; repair or replace broken parts.
• Coordinate external contractors/vendors involved in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of building systems.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements; maintain all required HAZMAT records including maintenance.
• Respond in a professional and timely manner to management and internal customer inquiries and researches and resolves problems related to a facility’s operational issues.
• May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.

What Are We Looking For?

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 4-6 years of facility maintenance experience is required to include most of the duties and responsibilities as listed above and use of hand and power tools.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment is preferred
• Excellent organization, ability to prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and custodial principles, procedures, and standards.
• May be required to complete and maintain SanMar’s Lift Operator Certification in compliance with OSHA guidelines.

What Should You Expect?

DC Warehouse (Equipment): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. The employee operates powered equipment requiring use of both hands as well as full range of motion of the neck, head and back. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to wear a headset covering one or both ears. Employee will be required to wear Personal protective equipment such as a Protective harness while operating equipment. Basic English literacy is required for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork. Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced.The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
