Job summary

Fisher Barton seeks a Facilities Helper in Watertown, WI, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. You will perform routine maintenance across painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems while keeping accurate maintenance records.

You will proactively identify issues to support current production needs. Responsibilities include safety compliance, site de-icing, cleaning, and assisting technicians with minor equipment maintenance and fabrication tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2+ years in a maintenance role in manufacturing.
• Ability to read and use basic math to analyze information.
• Experience with computer systems is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance duties including painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and hvac maintenance.
• Comply with safety standards and regulations.
• De-ice sidewalks and driveways and keep areas hazard-free.
• Clean interior and exterior of the building and machinery/equipment.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with minor equipment maintenance.
• Assist or perform minor fabrication tasks as needed.

Job description

The Facilities Helper reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance, and keeping accurate maintenance records. The Facilities Helper ensures that maintenance requirements/needs are completed in a timely and accurate manner to maintain current production requirements. The Facilities Helper will use continuous improvement to remain proactive in identifying and addressing facility and maintenance related issues.

Essential Functions:

• Complies with all safety standards and regulations.
• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance
• Ensure sidewalks and driveways are maintained in a tidy, hazard-free manner by appropriately de-icing as necessary and cleaning
• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building
• Assist Maintenance Technicians with minor equipment maintenance when required
• Assist/Perform minor fabrication tasks when required

Equipment:

• Hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, all manufacturing equipment and related energy sources

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read a tape measure

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2+ years’ experience working in a Maintenance position in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to use basic math to analyze information
• Experience with computer systems
• Ability to work safely and efficiently
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to be self-directed and work independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
• Strong organizational skills and a sense of urgency
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with painting
• Experience with carpentry
• Experience with plumbing
• Forklift certification
• Manlift certification

Physical | Visual Demands:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to wear appropriate, required PPE
• Ability to work in both humid and cold environments

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing: Loud (Examples: metal can, manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)
