Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with TIG and MMA welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
• Must have own face-shield and wear protective clothing.
• Work schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00am–3:30pm; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment in various positions.
• Produce strong, clean welds and inspect welded surfaces for flaws.
• Maintain safety and keep equipment in good condition.

What You'll Do

As part of our team of professional fabricators, you construct and manufacture metal parts and products, taking particular care to produce clean welds. You follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts used later in assembly processes. You are responsible for the quality of your output, so you must be able to perform simple tests to ensure weld quality and tolerance.

Daily

• Interpret blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications (i.e., cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
• Produce strong, clean welds
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Must be able to work, Monday-Thursday, 5:00am – 3:30pm; To meet the needs of the customer’s occasional overtime may be required. The company will try and give as much notice as possible.

Education And Experience

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.)
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.) Must have own face-shield
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs
• Professional Certification (i.e., an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
