Fabricator/Welder - 1st Shift - Pay up to $35/hr
Job Description

The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for fabricating, modifying, repairing, and rebuilding custom steel and aluminum components to support plastic molding and manufacturing operations. This role requires expertise in MIG and TIG welding and the ability to perform tasks such as machinery repairs, tooling, fixtures, structural components, frames, piping, and custom fabrication projects. The position operates on the first shift from 7 AM to 3 PM in Ashland, OH.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, modify, repair, and rebuild custom steel and aluminum components.
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum for various projects.
  • Repair, redesign, and fabricate replacement parts for production equipment.
  • Utilize shop math and practical design concepts to create fabrication layouts and sketches.
  • Measure, cut, fit, grind, assemble, and weld components while maintaining tight tolerances.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, plasma cutters, drill presses, and ironworkers.
  • Support equipment rebuilds, machine modifications, framework construction, piping projects, and facility improvements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and fabrication challenges and develop solutions.
  • Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and sketches while creating custom solutions.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, functionality, and dimensional accuracy.
Essential Skills
  • Strong MIG and TIG welding experience on steel and aluminum.
  • Extensive fabrication experience including fitting, layout, cutting, grinding, assembly, and custom part creation.
  • Ability to design and fabricate components using shop math and field measurements.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex fabrication challenges.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience repairing, modifying, rebuilding, or reverse-engineering machine parts and equipment components.
  • Experience with pipefitting, framework construction, equipment modifications, or custom manufacturing projects.
  • Comfortable working in a job-shop style environment.
  • Self-motivated craftsman who takes pride in quality workmanship, creativity, and problem-solving.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $79040.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
