Job summary

Anomatic in Naugatuck, CT, is seeking an Eyelet Toolmaker for planning and executing bench and machine operations to build and assemble eyelet tools, dies and gauges with high precision. This role requires interpreting layouts, setting up machines, and ensuring tight tolerances while coordinating with the Tooling Engineer.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman's card as an Eyelet Toolmaker or 4+ years of direct hands-on experience as an Eyelet Toolmaker.
  • Experience with deep drawn metal products in high-speed transfer presses and/or cosmetic parts is a plus.
  • Must be able to read blueprints with accuracy.
  • Must possess a high degree of precision and careful, controlled manipulation of tools.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates, assembles and grooms complex eyelet tools, dies and gauges for eyelet machines and presses.
  • Maintain production and quality standards and assist with Job Training as needed.
  • Troubleshoot jobs per production/quality requirements and adjust as required.
  • Interpret layouts or create general layouts from detailed instructions and support Tooling Engineer.
  • Plan and perform tool room machine operations with close tolerances and judgments on fits.

Shift: First Shift - M-F 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Job Summary

The Eyelet Toolmaker is responsible for planning and laying out work along with performing difficult and exacting bench and machine operations to construct, fit and assemble highly complicated eyelet tools, dies and gauges where accurate application of extended experience and a very high degree of ability are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Fabricates, assembles and grooms complicated tools for eyelet machines and transfer presses, involving roll feeds, automatic operation, special attachments, intricate cam and lever devices, carriers and slides, for handling and positioning parts through various tools stations which require intricate assembly and timing of multiple parts
  • Ensure effective operation of all jobs by maintaining production and quality standards. Assists with Job Training activities as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting on jobs as required by production and quality requirements and make appropriate changes as needed.
  • Receives layout or makes general layout from detailed instructions supplied by Manager, or Tooling Engineer. May work under direction of Technical Mgr. to assist in construction of components and assemblies of more complicated tools, make tool tryouts and set up machines.
  • Plans and performs a sequence of tool room machine operations where recognized methods are available on work involving close tolerances and fits requiring judgment to make general decisions on quality, tolerances, etc.
  • Proficient in the operation of manual equipment, such as lathes, millers and surface grinders.
  • Maintain excellent attendance record, keep work place in neat and orderly fashion at all times, be able to work overtime as needed on short notice.
  • Assists with any other duties and projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Journeyman's card as an Eyelet Toolmaker or 4 or more years of direct hands-on working experience as an Eyelet Toolmaker
  • Experience with deep drawn metal products in high-speed transfer presses and/or cosmetic parts is a plus
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude as well as ability to read blueprints
  • Must possess a high degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required.
  • High degree of attention and care required, to prevent injury to self and others when operating machine tools.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills as well as time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and work autonomously with minimal supervision
