Holt Technical Staffing has a live CNC Miller opportunity near Manchester, CT, with an aerospace manufacturer. The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC multi-axis milling centers and manual machines to produce precision components per customer specifications.

You will read engineering drawings and GD&T, select tools and fixturing, verify dimensions with micrometers and gauges, and perform basic G-code edits. Hours are 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 1st shift; pay rate $32.23–$35.53 per hour.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC multi-axis milling centers.
  • Strong ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with in-process inspection using precision gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC multi-axis milling centers and manual machines.
  • Read drawings, blueprints, GD&T, travelers, and setup documentation.
  • Select and install cutting tools, tool holders and fixturing.
  • Pick up work offsets and adjust tool offsets to maintain accuracy.
  • Perform basic G-code edits and program adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times.
  • Maintain CNC equipment and tidy work areas.

We have a live opportunity for a CNC Miller to join a leading aerospace manufacturing company based close to Manchester, CT.

Due to continued growth, our client is actively seeking a motivated and enthusiastic CNC Miller to join their industry-leading business. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC and manual machines, producing precision aerospace components to customer specifications.

Responsibilities – CNC Miller
  • Independentlyset up and operate CNC multi-axis milling machining centersfrom established processes, tooling requirements, fixtures, and work instructions.
  • Read and interpretengineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, travelers, operation sheets, and setup documentationto ensure components are machined to customer specifications.
  • Select and install appropriatecutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and workholding, ensuring correct tool setup and part alignment.
  • Pick up work offsets, tram tools, and make cutter compensation/offset adjustmentsto maintain dimensional accuracy and produce quality parts.
  • Performbasic G-code edits and program adjustmentsas required to maintain product conformity and optimize machining operations.
  • Conductin-process inspectionsusing micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment to verify component dimensions and identify non-conformances.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments totooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and cutting methodsto maintain quality and improve cycle times.
  • Work independently toidentify and resolve machining problems, escalating quality or equipment issues when necessary.
  • Maintain CNC equipment and work areas, includingroutine machine checks, fluid levels, housekeeping, and reporting equipment malfunctions.
Experience Required – CNC Miller
  • 3–5 years of CNC machining experiencein a manufacturing environment; aerospace experience preferred.
  • Proven experiencesetting up and operating CNC multi-axis milling machining centersindependently.
  • Strong experience reading and interpretingengineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, travelers, and operation sheets.
  • Hands-on experience withwork offsets, tool setup, cutter compensation, tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
  • Experience makingbasic G-code edits and machine/program adjustments.
  • Strongin-process inspectionexperience using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments totools, offsets, feeds, speeds, and cutting methods.
  • Experience machiningprecision components to tight dimensional tolerances.
  • Ability to work independently,problem-solve machining issues, and maintain production and quality requirements.
  • Experience working withmetals in a precision manufacturing environmentis preferred.
  • Aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, or otherhigh-precision CNC manufacturing experiencewould be advantageous.
