Job summary

Cannonball Recruiting LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist for 1st shift to operate both manual and CNC mills and lathes. The role requires setting up machines, interpreting blueprints, and selecting tooling to produce high‑quality parts.

Candidates should have experience with Quickmill CNC Mills and TRAK machines, along with G-code programming and precise measurement skills. This on-site position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines.
• Conversational CNC programming on lathe and mill (TRAK preferred).
• Working with G-code programming.
• Proficient with precision measurement tools and reading blueprints.
• Experience with stainless steel and high alloy materials is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC mills and lathes.
• Read blueprints and determine machining sequences and processes.
• Select tooling and fixtures as needed.
• Design and fabricate simple fixtures when required.
• Collaborate with small teams or work independently to complete tasks.

Job description

Machinist - 1st Shift

Pay: $30-40/hr. (depending on experience)

Shift: 7am to 3:30pm (Mon-Fri)

Description

• Cannonball Recruiting is seeking a Machinist who has experience on both manual and CNC mills and lathes. Experience with Quickmill CNC Mills and TRAK CNC Mills/Lathes is beneficial. The machinist should expect 1 to 5 set‑ups/change‑overs per day.

Requirements

• Experienced in setting up and operating both Manual and CNC machines.
• Experienced with conversational CNC programming, lathe and mill. (Trak machines).
• Experienced with G‑Code CNC programming.
• Proficient in use of precision measurement equipment – Calipers, micrometers, test indicators, etc.
  Able to interpret blueprints to select appropriate machining processes and sequence to create a finished part from stock materials.
• Capable of specifying tooling required to complete jobs.
  Experience with machining high alloy materials is preferred (Stainless Steel 304, 316, Inconel 600, 800, Monel 400, Hastelloy C‑276)
• Capable of designing and fabricating custom fixtures when required
• Capable of working independently or on small teams to complete assigned tasks
