Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a 1st Grade Special Education Teacher in the Bronx, NY for the 2026/2027 school year. We are open to full-time candidates and provide differentiated instruction to help students succeed.

Responsibilities include implementing classroom plans, maintaining a conducive learning environment, and meeting licensing requirements. Candidates should hold a NY DOE Special Education certificate and a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education.
• NY Department of Education SPED certificate required.

• Provide direct childcare services, including serving as the child’s teacher.
• Assist in implementing the classroom plan according to state and local licensing regulations and Birch Agency’s policy and procedures.
• Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning through implementing program planning.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or the School Principal as needed.

Pay Rate: $48.00/hr to $53.00/hr

Birch Agency is seeking Elementary School Special Education Teachers to join our team! We are currently hiring First Grade special education teachers for job opportunities in the Bronx, NY area for the 2026/2027 school year. We are open to full-time candidates. We are interested in working with special education teachers who have a passion for making a difference in students' lives by providing differentiated instruction to help them achieve academic success.
