Job summary

Schnucks Markets, Inc. is seeking a checker to provide friendly customer service, greet customers, and accurately process purchases at the register. The role requires reliable attendance and the ability to handle various payment methods including cash, cards, EBT and WIC.

Training occurs at store level, and duties may include bagging orders and maintaining cash security. Ideal candidates will be able to identify produce items and use product codes, distinguish Schnucks coupons from manufacturer

• Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options.
• Complete register record accurately.
• Practice and maintain cash security.
• Bag customer orders.
• Change register receipts and coupon machine tapes.
• Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of store management.

TRAINING

Training will be provided at store level.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Bending
• Stooping
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Additional Requirements – Internal Candidates:

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates:minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
