Job summary

LogicSource in Columbus, OH is seeking a full-time Buyer for indirect procurement who will support one retail client with inventory management, spot sourcing, and competitive RFPs, while building supplier relationships and managing projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 1–3 years in retail procurement, and proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Travel up to 20% may be required; certifications are a plus.

Position Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Buyer at our client located in Columbus, OH. This position will be focused on supporting one of our retail clients with inventory management, spot sourcing, building, executing and analyzing competitive requests for proposals, supplier selection and management and supporting projects that involve tactical execution. You will be a key member of our Client Relationship Management team, reporting to our Manager, Sourcing and Procurement.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing country specific inventory to support daily store operations in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
• Supports international and domestic real estate store activity by ensuring stores open on time with complete supply packages.
• Supports and/or manages the relationship with internal brand customers; operations, visual & finance, working cross-functionally to deliver on objectives within a seasonal budget.
• Performs competitive domestic & international sourcing events and projects, develop strong negotiation skills through supplier selection and alignment of capabilities and business requirements; managing quality of products with timely issue resolution; driving total cost of ownership.
• Maintains a positive outlook and takes accountability to provide the highest level of service and professionalism.
• Demonstrate strong project management competencies to organize and execute projects while documenting decisions and keeping applicable parties informed; flexes to the needs of the business.
• Communicates in a highly effective manner (verbal and written).
• Excellent time management, including proven ability to work independently and cross functionally, strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
• Ability to execute tasks in a thorough, accurate and timely fashion while managing multiple, competing priorities in a speed model environment with minimal supervision.

• Potential to manage specific categories, including SRM, competitive benchmarking, customer relationship management, business reviews and management to define SLAs to ensure effective category performance.
• Completes administrative tasks accurately and in time:
  • Tactically supports needs of team and customers about accurate data entry, reporting and analysis for supply and packaging programs.
  • Completes and audits commercial invoices.
  • Updates Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manages meeting agendas, meeting notes, and project management tracking spreadsheets.
  • Manages issue resolutions in support of the supply program, proactively identifying trends and making recommendations to align on weekly buys to support changing business needs and eliminate back-orders.
  • Executes supply catalog maintenance (add, remove, change SKUs) with suppliers and internal customers.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 1-3 years of retail procurement experience required with an understanding and focus on supply chain, retail operations, and financial analytics.
• Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, and/or Project Management Professional certifications are a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word; knowledge of job management software highly preferred.
• Ability to excel in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires a fast learner and flexible thinker.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high-quality work.
• Strong work ethic with excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Travel: This position may require 10 to 20% travel to Columbus, OH.

Pay Range

$55,000 - $120,000 USD
