Job summary

TimelyCare seeks licensed therapists to contract on a 1099 basis, providing therapy to college students through our virtual platform. The role is remote nationwide, with candidates licensed in California and strong clinical documentation skills.

Therapists will develop treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate with TimelyCare teams to ensure ongoing care. Requirements include California licensure (LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW) and preference for psychologists (Ph.D./Psy.D.).

Qualifications

• Licensed professionals must have CA licensure (LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW) and be fully licensed; associate therapists are not eligible.
• Preferred: Psychologist (Ph.D./Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology.
• Active state licensure in CA; additional state licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy and treatment planning for college students.
• Document securely and submit HIPAA-compliant notes in TimelyCare's EHR.

The Role

We are currently looking to contract with 1099 therapists, clinically licensed in California, who would provide therapy and support to the clients (students) who use the TimelyCare platform.

Mental Health Counseling is part of a broad range of TimelyCare's digital health services that are extended to members of higher education, primarily college students. As a licensed clinical therapist with TimelyCare, you will offer therapy for the students we serve, partnering with them to identify their needs, collaborate and develop treatment plans, and guide them, when necessary, to other appropriate TimelyCare services (Medical, Psychiatry, etc.).

We have a mental health team that consists of Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LI/CSW), Professional Counselors (LPC/LMHC), Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Clinical Psychologists (LP/LCP).

Location

TimelyCare’s primary location is Fort Worth, Texas. This is a remote position, reviewing candidates licensed in CA.

Requirements For Contracted Services

• Required: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Associate therapists are not applicable for this position at this time.
• Preferred: Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, LP/LCP)
• Active State License in CA, additional state licensures a plus
• Strong clinical documentation, assessment, and active listening skills
• Experience with crisis intervention/de-escalation and safety/treatment planning
• Background in providing services to young adults, adolescents, at-risk populations, and/or experience working in community mental health, crisis triage, or a college counseling environment

What Our Contracted Therapists Do

• Provide therapeutic counseling services and treatment planning to a primarily young adult population
• Document concurrently and submit HIPAA compliant documentation using TimelyCare's electronic health record
• Develop and submit treatment plans and progress notes following each session
• Communicate cross functionally with other teams/departments in order to support care continuation as needed
• Adhere to established standards for documentation quality and code of ethics

Expectations For Contracted Services

• Work with the student/client to establish and develop treatment goals and document accordingly
• Utilize active listening skills and evidence based modalities (SFBT, CBT, DBT, MI, ACT) in order to build rapport, establish boundaries, and progress student/client care
• Submit appropriate documentation in the EHR (the TimelyCare platform) in a punctual manner
• Prepared to adapt to the changing needs of the population we serve
• Able to remain calm and maintain composure during a potential high stress scenario
• Respond with empathy, professionalism, and meet clients where they are at
• Model respectful conduct with all students, peers, and support staff

• Timely: Expected session time is 45–50 minutes, with the time remaining for documentation (60 minutes total)

• Motivated clients: The population TimelyCare serves is made up of motivated, high functioning students in higher education institutions who are ready to actively participate in behavioral health services and treatment
• Professional boundaries: Clients will not have access to your phone number or email

Compensation + Perks

• Compensation: $75 - $90/session
• Per session rate is discussed upon interview and is dependent on level of education, licensure breadth, and clinical experience. The higher end of this range is reserved for doctoral-level candidates. All pay is subject to experience and licensure.
