Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Background Investigator to support a national BI program for federal government clients. The role involves reviewing interview documentation, interviewing diverse sources, and preparing detailed statements to support investigations.

The candidate must complete NTS training, be able to travel up to 50%, conduct virtual interviews, and DHS credentials are preferred. Top Secret clearance is valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have completed NTS Background Investigator training course.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to conduct virtual interviews at home.
• Candidates with active DHS credentials will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Review completed background interview documentation for inconsistencies, errors, omissions and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completion before beginning initial candidate interview.
• Conduct background investigations by interviewing employers, co-workers, neighbors, law enforcement officials, military personnel, family members and personal references.
• Prepare detailed and complete interview statements for each person being interviewed to allow a reviewer to draw reasonable conclusions about candidates.
• Prepare documentation for inclusion into a results of investigation package organizing all investigative material per procedures.
• Prepare detailed summary of adverse information based on objective analysis and evaluation against standards as set by the FIS.
• Ability to conduct interviews remotely and/or in-person and travel up to 50%.
• Spanish Speaking is a plus

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Background Investigator; you will support a large national background investigations (BI) program that provides investigative products and services to departments and agencies of the federal government. Focused on our Nation’s security, BIs are required to determine an individual’s suitability for employment with the federal government, eligibility for access to classified information, assignment to or retention in positions with sensitive duties, or other designated duties requiring such investigations. The investigations often involve personal and intimate details of an individual’s life and must be processed and conducted with tact and discretion. Info rmation collected by the investigator as part of the BI is protected under the Privacy Act of 1974. Responsibilities:

• Review completed background interview documentation checking for inconsistencies, errors, omissions, falsifications and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completion before beginning initial candidate interview
• Conduct background investigations by interviewing employers, co-workers, neighbors, law enforcement officials, military personnel, members of the candidate’s family and personal references
• Prepare detailed and complete interview statements for each person being interviewed in order to allow a reviewer to draw reasonable and logical conclusions about the prospective candidates
• Prepare documentation for inclusion into a results of investigation package organizing all investigative material in accordance with established procedures
• Prepares detailed summary of adverse information based upon objective analysis and evaluation of candidate’s background, and interviewee statements, as measured against requirement standards as set forth by the FIS
• Ability to conduct interviews remotely and/or in-person and be able to travel up to 50% of the time
• Spanish Speaking is a plus
