Job summary

Groups Recover Together is leading the fight against substance use disorder in Tennessee by providing outpatient treatment services. We are actively seeking a Physician (1099) who will work with our dedicated care teams to monitor clinical progress and manage medication dosing for patients.

As a vital part of our operation, you’re expected to maintain hospital admitting privileges and engage in oversight of patient care through thorough EMR documentation. The role requires an active state license, DEA, and extensive experience in prescribing Buprenorphine.

Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered state license (MD/DO) in Tennessee.
  • Active individual DEA for prescribing medication.
  • Proof of 8 hours of qualified training for Buprenorphine prescription.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in prescribing Buprenorphine.
  • Maintain hospital admitting privileges at accredited hospitals.
  • Proof of active board certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intakes and monitor patients' clinical progress.
  • Authorize patients' prescriptions during monthly visits.
  • Complete all notes in the Groups EMR system.
  • Cooperate to obtain and maintain admitting privileges.
  • Participate in required application and orientation processes.

Responsibilities
Physician (1099) Responsibilities

Assist in conducting intakes. Physicians see patients after they have already undergone an extensive evaluation by the counselor.

Monitor patients' clinical progress at regular group counseling sessions. Groups are run by specialized counseling staff; physicians participate by answering questions and managing patients’ medication dosing.

Authorize patients' prescriptions during monthly visits with patient panels.

Complete all notes and reporting in Groups EMR system within required timeline (providers receive full orientation/ training on Clinical Protocols before eligible to begin work with Groups).

Admitting Privileges Responsibilities

The Contractor agrees to reasonably cooperate with Recover Together in efforts to obtain and/or maintain admitting privileges, which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing and submitting required applications and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Providing accurate, current, and complete credentialing information.
  • Participating in interviews, orientations, or follow-up requests from facilities.
  • Maintaining all necessary licensure, certifications, and qualifications required by the applicable facility including maintaining hospital admitting privileges at a TJC, DNV, CIHQ, or ACHC accredited hospital.

We utilize strict protocols to guide clinical decision-making. We have also developed a unique, technology-driven and team-based clinical system that handles all day-to-day patient management and regulatory compliance. This allows physicians to focus exclusively on medical management.

Qualifications
Physician (1099) Requirements
  • Active, Unencumbered State License (MD/DO) in the State in which you are applying.
  • Active, Individual DEA with address listed in the State in which you are applying (please note that if you intend on prescribing in multiple states, a separate DEA is required in each state in which you are planning on prescribing).
  • DEAX designation as formerly required to prescribe Buprenorphine or proof of 8hrs of qualified training as assigned by SAMHSA will be required.
  • Minimum 1 year actively prescribing Buprenorphine.
  • Maintain hospital admitting privileges at a TJC, DNV NIAHO, CIHQ, or ACHC accredited hospital.
  • Proof of Active Board Certification (MD or DO; any specialty)
  • Eligibility for hours will commence approx. 10-12 weeks after initiation of credentialing and training.
