Job summary

Venture Community Services in Massachusetts is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. You will assist with daily living activities, accompany individuals to appointments, and help them participate in the community.

We offer paid training, a sign-on bonus, and a schedule including overnights on weekends. Prior experience with behavioral support is preferred; fluent English is required.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for and support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible.
• Assist with daily living activities (household tasks, meal prep, shopping, personal care).
• Escort to medical appointments and community outings; monitor safety and well-being.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans.
• Participate in trainings and ensure compliance with regulations and agency policies.

Direct Support Professional – Sign on Bonus! New Pay Rate! Paid Training!

Schedule: Sun 11p-7a, Mon 11p-7a, Tue 11p-7a

Part-Time: 24 hours

Pay: $17.50-$19.00 per hour – Paid training provided by Venture!

Sign On Bonus: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees

This open position is in a highly behavioral residential home setting. We are seeking candidates with experience working with behavioral individuals.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.

DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals’ home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.

DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

Requirements

• 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals.
• Employees must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above, and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job. Employee must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported. This may include holidays, overnights, or double-shifts.
