Job summary

Spriggs Excavation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time, 100% travel role across the central United States. The position requires extensive travel between project sites, with assignments lasting several months in different states.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package is offered. A pre-employment background check and drug test are required before start date.

Qualifications

• English proficiency is mandatory for understanding instructions and safety protocols.
• Willingness to labor and support the crew on site.
• 3 years’ experience operating heavy earthmoving equipment (grader, scraper, dozer, excavator).
• 1 year of related equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily machine inspection and maintenance checks; report issues immediately.
• Safely operate machinery and adapt to changing environments and weather.
• Read grade stakes and use GPS for grade control and finishing.
• Manage materials efficiently across excavation, loading, grading, and utilities installation.
