Herman N Logistics in Indianapolis is seeking CDL-A Intermodal drivers for a local yard role. You’ll operate within a 200-mile local coverage zone with regular Chicago turns and 100-mile hops, pulling about 2,000 miles and 17 loads per week in a slip-seat yard.

Expect base pay $0.59-$0.66 CPM plus a $10,000 sign-on; additional pay for live loads, drops, crosstown shifts, delays, detention, and training. Daily home time with Friday–Tuesday night options.

Local CDL-A Intermodal Fleet – Indianapolis, IN

Yard Location & Routes

• Terminal Base: Running straight out of the Indianapolis yard.
• Delivery Scope: Local 200-mile coverage zone, featuring regular Chicago turns and short 100-mile local hops.

Pay & Weekly Revenue

• Expected Earnings: Annual average hitting around $87,000, which works out to an estimated $1,620 to $1,640 weekly.
• Mileage & Extras: Base pay runs $0.59 to $0.66 CPM, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus. You also pick up $53 per live load/unload, $33 for drop-and-hooks, $15 crosstown shifts, $15/hr for rail delays after an hour, $20/hr detention after 90 minutes, and $20/hr for training.

Volume & Equipment

• Freight Setup: Pulling about 2,000 miles and 17 loads a week, with 75% of it being drop-and-hook.
• Tractor Specs: Modern automatic day cabs set up in a slip-seat arrangement (yard-kept, smoke-free, and passenger-free).

Shift Schedules & Rest

• Home Time: Daily home resets so you're back home every day.
• Available Shifts:
• • Option A: Friday through Tuesday starting at 1:00 AM (Wednesday and Thursday off).
  • Option B: Friday through Tuesday starting at 9:00 PM (night shift).

Requirements & Screening

• Experience Needed: At least 9 months of verifiable Class-A tractor-trailer seat time.
• Endorsements & Testing: Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days (the company reimburses you for it). You also have to pass a standard DOT physical, a urine drug screen, and a hair follicle test.
