Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide articulation, language, and fluency intervention within K-12 settings. The role collaborates with districts, families, and school staff to deliver high-quality therapy and ensure student progress.

The clinician will assess needs, design intervention plans, and maintain accurate documentation while complying with school policies. A state SLP license and CCC were discussed as part of the qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Valid SLP licensure in the relevant state.
• Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred.
• Experience in a school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements intervention programs, addressing identified speech/language deficits.
• Collaborates with school personnel and families to design and implement intervention plans.
• Offers consultation and collaboration to support students’ speech-language goals.
• Acts as a resource to parents, staff, and caregivers in speech-language development.
• Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine speech/language needs.
• Interprets diagnostic tests and generates feedback reports for school personnel and parents.
• Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures for these services.
• Completes required paperwork accurately and timely.

The Speech‑Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing intervention in the areas of articulation, language, and fluency. They will assess student needs, provide high-quality speech and language therapy, and collaborate with both school personnel and families to provide services to students. Responsibilities

• Designs and implements intervention programs, which remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students
• Works with school personnel and parents to design and implement the student’s intervention plan, individual service plan, or individual student plan most appropriate to address the student’s need
• Offers consultation and collaboration with school staff and parents in support of student’s speech language goals
• Acts as a resource to parents, school personnel and other caregivers in the area of speech/language development
• Administers appropriate screening and/or diagnostic tests to determine child’s speech/language competency, if requested
• Interprets diagnostic tests, identifies strengths and weaknesses in areas of speech/language skills, and generates reports providing feedback to school personnel and parents
• Is knowledgeable concerning all policies and procedures as established for these services
• Completes required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Light lifting, walking, and/or climbing stairs may be required

Qualifications

• Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning required
  • Master’s Degree from an ASHA accredited university is required
  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license/credential is required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency is preferred
  • Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred

• Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or therapeutic setting is highly desirable.
  • Experience in providing direct support in speech and language therapy or related services is a plus.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapy techniques and a willingness to learn and implement new strategies under supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

USD $90,000.00/Yr.

USD $105,000.00/Yr.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to run short distances and move swiftly in response to student needs, including bending, kneeling, and crouching.

• Ability to lift and assist students with mobility challenges, often requiring the handling of up to 50 pounds or more.

• Skill in managing fine motor tasks, such as helping students with writing, manipulating small objects, or using adaptive devices.

• Ability to operate a computer or tablet for up to 8 hours daily.

• Capacity to remain calm and composed during physically and emotional demanding situations, ensuring student safety and well-being
