Huntington Learning Center - Harrisburg is seeking enthusiastic Learning Center Teachers / Academic Tutors to work with elementary, middle, and high school students in reading, writing, math, and study skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for K-4 teachers, early childhood educators, college graduates, graduate students, STEM professionals, and aspiring educators who enjoy helping students succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience teaching or supporting early readers (K-4) preferred.
• Phonics-based instruction and early literacy development knowledge preferred.
• Teaching certification preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 or small group instruction to K-12 students.
• Teach reading, writing, math, or study skills based on student needs.
• Deliver explicit, systematic phonics instruction to beginning readers (as applicable).
• Support early literacy development including Phonemic awareness, letter-sound correspondence, decoding and sight word recognition.
• Support homework help and academic skill development.
• Help students build confidence and improve academic performance.
• Maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
