Job summary

New Story Schools (PA) is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students ages 5–21 who face autism and related challenges. You’ll assist teachers with academic, behavioral, and daily living goals, offering direct support, patience, and encouragement.

You’ll implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under guidance, help with transitions and personal care, and collect progress data to help maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Guided by individualized learning, therapeutic integration, and collaboration, we empower students to grow and prepare for meaningful adult lives. As a Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools, you will work alongside teachers to support students’ academic, behavioral, and daily living goals. You’ll play a vital role in helping each student succeed through direct support, patience, and encouragement.

The starting rate for this role is around $22/hour, and final offers depend on things like your years of experience and your education level.
