Job summary

Westfield Washington School District is looking for an Instructional Assistant to support students with special needs at Monon Trail Elementary School. The successful candidate will assist teachers in fulfilling educational objectives, working closely with individual students or small groups to help them achieve their academic goals.

This full-time position offers 35 hours a week with responsibilities including guiding independent work, maintaining confidentiality, and assisting with personal needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some College preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to relate well to a variety of individuals, including students, parents, staff, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students.
• Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
• Record keeping as assigned by teacher.
