Job summary

Northshore School District 417 is seeking a 1:1 Registered School Nurse to promote and maintain student health in the classroom, supporting learning and well-being. The role involves collaboration with teachers on health plans, documentation, and field activities as needed.

Candidates must hold a Washington RN license, CPR/First Aid, and preferably pediatric or school-nursing experience. CPI training or equivalent is required. Starting date is to be determined.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR; CPR/AED certification.
• Pediatric, adolescent, or school nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide the necessary medical and nursing care for the assigned student and to work closely with classroom teacher(s) to adapt work/homework/materials to support student learning and comprehension.
• Maintain medical equipment and supplies at school for the student as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher and building school nurse regarding implementation of 504 Plans, Individual Education Plans, Individual Health Care Plans, Emergency Care Plans, and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Establish a plan of communication between the building school nurse, parents, and medical provider.
• Maintain an accurate health record on the assigned student and document health-related activities and treatments as appropriate.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
