Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a 1:1 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Midview Schools/LeafBridge Alternative Education. This part-time role features a school-year schedule with daytime hours, and works under RN supervision to promote student wellness and deliver health services.

The nurse will administer medications, assist with IHPs/EAPs, and support students with chronic conditions in a collaborative education setting. Ohio LPN licensure and CPR/AED certification are required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted LPN license in the State of Ohio.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• School nursing or pediatric/community health experience preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a school environment under RN supervision.
• CPR/AED certification required (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessment and triage of student health concerns under RN/physician supervision.
• Administer medications and treatments per established protocols and physician orders.
• Assist in implementing individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs).
• Support management of students with chronic health conditions including asthma, diabetes, and allergies.
• Conduct health screenings as directed (vision, hearing, BMI).
• Maintain accurate, confidential student health records in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
• Communicate student health updates to parents, school staff, and supervising RN.
• Provide basic health education to students and families.
• Respond to building-level health needs and assist in emergency situations.
• Collaborate with the supervising RN and school team to promote student wellness.
