Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one care for a medically complex student in a school setting in Washtenaw County, Michigan. The role focuses on delivering skilled nursing care to help the child participate in learning, activities, and routines safely throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include nursing care under practitioner orders, collaboration with the care team, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an LPN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Care for clients according to medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Document changes in orders in the medical record per agency procedures.
• Perform personal care, monitoring, reporting, and medication administration.
• Educate clients and coordinate with the care team.
• Maintain safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Comply with agency policies, procedures, payor and accreditation standards.
• Participate in care coordination and agency meetings.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
