Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring for a Patient Observation role. You will support patient safety and mobility under the direction of a registered nurse, with duties including monitoring patients on Patient Watch Orders and preventing wandering.

Responsibilities include reporting and documenting patient behavior, traveling with patients when needed, and performing other duties as assigned. BLS certification is required prior to observation. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to stay mobile according to patient movement and needs.
• Must be able to work in environments with isolation precautions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Perform checks on patients with a Patient Watch Order.
• Provide directions to prevent falls or wandering.
• Record and document patient behavior accurately.
• Must be able to travel with the patient when needed.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
