Job summary

Libertyville D70 seeks an elementary 1:1 Paraeducator for Copeland Manor Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The role includes providing one-on-one or small group support, implementing behavior plans, and assisting with instructional modifications to meet student needs.

The position offers hourly pay of $20.72 with ELS PARA or SUB, or $21.84 with a PEL, plus benefits such as medical, dental and life insurance, two personal days and 12 sick days.

Qualifications

• Must possess ISBE licensure with a PEL, SUB or ELS-(PARA) Paraeducator.
• Be registered in Lake County.

Responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by the teacher or behavior specialist.
• Support students in managing behavior, emotions, and social interactions in various settings (classroom, recess, etc.).
• Assist with de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as needed.
• Monitor and document student behavior, tracking progress and reporting to appropriate staff.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to reinforce learning.
• Assist in modifying instructional materials to meet academic and behavioral needs of students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students with organizational tasks, following schedules, and completing assignments.
