ARISE CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE INC in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional for a part-time, per diem role to support a 45-year-old woman in achieving personal goals and community participation. The DSP will help identify activities, provide companionship, and assist with tasks like housing searches and accessing resources.

Hours are Mon/Wed/Fri with additional shifts possible. Starting pay is $19.25/hour, with increases based on experience.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills.
New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
Must have a valid driver's license
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the client with developing personal goals and community activities.
Assist in finding and participating in activities the client enjoys.
Support in everyday personal goals such as apartment search, grocery shopping, and accessing community resources.
Build trusting relationships and provide supportive companionship.
Follow agency policies and participate in activities with the client as requested.
