Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have earned 72 college level credits from an accredited institution, have a college degree, or be able to pass the ETS Assessment.
• Experience working with students in individual and small group settings.
• Knowledge of education fundamentals; curriculum familiarity preferred.
• Experience working with students in a classroom setting.
• Proven ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage large groups of students safely in unstructured settings.
• Punctuality and consistent attendance demonstrated.

Responsibilities

• Individualized support tailored to the student’s IEP and needs.
• Provide behavioral and academic support to engage learning activities.
• Collaborate with the student’s case manager and staff to implement strategies.
• Promote independence and development of functional skills.
• Follow the Behavior Intervention Plan and use de-escalation strategies.
• Complete Safety Care Behavioral Safety Training for all 1:1 staff.
• Maintain open communication with supervising teacher/case manager.
• Assist with personal care tasks as required and appropriate.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
• Adhere to district policies, confidentiality, and schedules.
