Job summary

Kelloggsville Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Support 1.0 FTE paraeducator at Central Kelloggsville Elementary in Grand Rapids, MI. Daily hours are to be determined; 40 hours per week per student calendar, starting immediately.

The role supports instruction, fosters a safe learning environment, and requires strong organizational skills with a focus on cultural competence in a diverse community.

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours completed preferred.
• High school or trade school degree preferred.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

• Create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all students.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
• Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
• Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
• Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
• Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
